Lady Chargers Close Regular Season with 2-1 Win Over Southwestern Illinois

The Lady Chargers hosted Southwestern Illinois College at Ridley Field on Sunday, earning a hard-fought 2-1 victory in their final regular season matchup.

Scarlett Derrett led the way with two goals, while Eva Galloway tallied two assists. Goalkeeper Rory Burgess had an outstanding performance in the box, recording seven saves to help secure the win.

With the victory, Columbia State improved their overall record to 12-5-1. The Lady Chargers now turn their focus to the TCCAA Region 7 Tournament, which begins Sunday, October 26, at Ridley Field. Columbia State will host Chattanooga State in the first round at 2 p.m. The winner will advance to the semifinals.
