Lady Chargers Split Weekend Road Trip
The Lady Chargers traveled to St. Louis over the weekend for a pair of Region 24 matchups, facing Lewis and Clark Community College on Friday, August 29, and Wabash Valley College on Sunday, August 31.
On Friday, the Lady Chargers fell 4-0 to a strong Lewis and Clark squad. Columbia State managed five shots in the contest, while goalkeeper Rory Burgess turned in a solid performance with five saves in net.
The team bounced back in a big way on Sunday, defeating Wabash Valley 7-0. Aubrie Bollenberg led the offensive surge with a hat trick, while Scarlett Derrett added two goals. Eva Galloway and Addison Alexander also found the back of the net, rounding out the scoring. Burgess once again anchored the defense, recording six saves to secure the shutout.
With the split, the Lady Chargers move to 2-2 on the season. They now turn their focus to conference play, traveling to Harriman, Tennessee, on Thursday, September 4, for their TCCAA opener against Roane State (1-1-1 overall, 1-0 TCCAA).
