Lady Chargers Open Season with Big Win, Fall in Neutral-Site Match

The Lady Chargers kicked off their season in dominant fashion on Thursday, August 21, with an 8-0 victory over Lincoln Trail at Ridley Park.

Eva Galloway led the attack with three goals in the opener. Scarlett Derrett, Rory Curtis, Addison Alexander, Darla Shinton, and Lillian Gardner each added a goal to secure the win.

On Sunday, August 24, the Lady Chargers traveled for a neutral-site matchup against LSU-Eunice. Despite a strong effort, the Chargers fell 2-1 after LSU-Eunice scored the deciding goal in the 87th minute. Bree Stankard scored the lone goal for Columbia State, finding the back of the net in the 41st minute to tie the match heading into halftime.

The Lady Chargers will now hit the road to NJCAA Region 24 to take on Lewis and Clark Community College on Friday, August 29 and Wabash Valley College on Sunday, August 31.
