Lady Chargers Fall on the Road at Dyersburg State
DYERSBURG, Tenn. – The Columbia State Lady Chargers traveled to Dyersburg State on Wednesday night for a key TCCAA matchup but came up short, falling 53-45.
Despite the loss, the Lady Chargers battled throughout the contest, keeping the game within reach behind strong individual performances on both ends of the floor.
Sophomore Niana Hill recorded a double-double, leading Columbia State with 12 points and 11 rebounds while adding two steals. Hill's presence in the paint helped the Lady Chargers stay competitive throughout the night.
Freshman Kelsey Keiler added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, contributing on both offense and defense. Sophomore Lily Melton chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and two assists to round out Columbia State's top performers.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers move to 11-10 overall and 10-5 in TCCAA play as they continue conference competition.
Columbia State will return home on Saturday, Feb. 14, to host the Roane State Lady Raiders at The Web. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
