Lady Chargers Battle Hard in Narrow Loss to Calhoun
The Lady Chargers hosted the Warhawks of Calhoun Community College in a competitive matchup on Monday afternoon, ultimately falling 58–63 in a tightly contested game.
Sophomore standout Niana Hill continued her dominant season with another impressive double-double, recording 16 points, 15 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 blocks. Fellow sophomore Lily Melton also delivered a strong performance, finishing with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals as she helped control the pace early in the game. Emma Sharp added 8 points, while Malaya Woullard contributed 6 points.
The Lady Chargers took a significant lead into halftime after an energetic first half, but the offense struggled to find rhythm in the final two quarters, managing just 12 total points after the break. Despite the defensive effort and late push, the comeback fell just short.
Columbia State now sits at 2–6 overall. The team will take the Thanksgiving break off before returning to action on Wednesday, December 3, when they host TCCAA rival Dyersburg State at 5:30 p.m. at the Webster Athletic Center.
