Lady Chargers Fall to Calhoun CC at Mid-State Classic
The Columbia State Lady Chargers hosted Calhoun Community College during the Mid-State Classic at Ridley Park, an event hosted by the City of Columbia. The Lady Chargers fell 9-0 in the matchup.
Offensively, Columbia State was limited to just one hit on the day. Freshman Summer Alsup recorded the Lady Chargers' lone hit in the contest.
In the circle, Emily Copley took the loss for Columbia State. Copley pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs, four of which were earned, while recording one strikeout.
The Lady Chargers will return to action this weekend at Eddie Campbell Field with a pair of TCCAA doubleheaders. On Friday, March 13, Columbia State will host the Pellissippi State Lady Panthers with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Saturday, March 14, the Lady Chargers will welcome the Walters State Lady Senators for another doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
