Lady Chargers Battle Through Home Stand at Eddie Campbell Field
The Lady Chargers softball team returned home this week, hosting Gadsden State Community College on Wednesday, February 11 and Bevill State Community College on Thursday, February 12 at Eddie Campbell Field.
Wednesday vs. Gadsden State
In game one, the Lady Chargers fell 15-2. Sophomores Haley Gamblin and Madison Arel each went 1-for-2 at the plate, with both players launching a home run and recording an RBI.
Game two saw the Lady Chargers drop a 10-1 decision. Arel continued her strong offensive performance, adding another home run and RBI in the nightcap.
Thursday vs. Bevill State
On Thursday, the Lady Chargers faced Bevill State in another doubleheader at Eddie Campbell Field.
In game one, Columbia State fell 17-1. Sophomore Mycah Price went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, while sophomore Bella Birdsong finished 1-for-2.
The Lady Chargers dropped game two 8-0. Freshman Hazelyn Minton led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a double. Birdsong added a 1-for-3 performance, while Arel went 1-for-2 with a double. Freshman Kinley Wiser also contributed offensively, finishing 1-for-2.
The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back when they host Northeast Mississippi Community College on Tuesday, February 17 at Eddie Campbell Field. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
