Lady Chargers Season Ends in TCCAA Tournament Play-In Loss
The Lady Chargers saw their season come to a close Friday in the play-in game of the TCCAA Region 7 Softball Tournament, falling to the #8 seeded Motlow State Lady Bucks. Entering as the #9 seed, the Lady Chargers showed early promise before a big inning by Motlow State swung the game out of reach.
The Lady Chargers struck first in the top of the second inning. Jaides Parrish sparked the offense with a single to right field and advanced to third on a defensive miscue. Abigail Brown followed with a walk and promptly stole second, setting the table for Madison Arel. Arel's grounder to second resulted in another error, allowing Parrish to cross the plate and Brown to move to third. Brown later scored on a passed ball, giving the Chargers a 2–0 lead.
That lead held strong until the bottom of the fifth inning, when the Lady Bucks mounted a furious comeback, plating 10 runs and seizing control of the game. Despite the early momentum and solid defensive effort through four innings, the Lady Chargers couldn't recover from the outburst and saw their postseason hopes end with the loss.
The Lady Chargers finish the 2025 season with an overall record of 8–36.
In conference news, standout freshman Jayla Davenport was named to the TCCAA All-Region First Team. Davenport posted an impressive .465 batting average, stole 27 bases, and drove in 14 runs during the season.
