Lady Chargers Battle Hard at Jackson State
The Lady Chargers hit the road Thursday, April 17, for a TCCAA doubleheader against Jackson State. Despite strong efforts at the plate and in the circle, the Lady Chargers dropped both games, falling 14-2 in the opener and 5-4 in a closely contested second game.
Game One Recap:
Jackson State's offense came out swinging in the first game, putting up 14 runs to take the win. Abigail Brown led the charge for the Lady Chargers, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Bella Birdsong added a double and scored a run, while Madison Arel and Mycah Price each tallied a hit and an RBI. Jaides Parrish, Reagan Burleson, and Chloe West also chipped in with a hit apiece.
Jaylee Warren took the loss in the circle, pitching three innings and allowing seven hits and seven earned runs.
Game Two Recap:
The Lady Chargers bounced back with a much tighter contest in game two, but ultimately came up just short in a 5-4 loss. Abigail Brown once again paced the offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Mycah Price, Jaylee Warren, Jaides Parrish, and Alyssa Rideout each recorded a hit.
Christina Juarez turned in a strong performance in the circle, pitching a complete game with six hits, two earned runs, and three strikeouts.
