Lady Chargers Battle Hard but Fall to Itawamba
The Lady Chargers hosted the Itawamba Indians at Eddie Campbell Field on Tuesday, showing resilience and offensive firepower despite dropping both games.
In game one, the Lady Chargers fell 13-2. Abigail Brown provided a highlight, going 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored. Madison Arel also went deep, finishing 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. Jaylee Warren contributed the team's other hit and pitched a complete game, allowing 16 runs (6 earned) on 11 hits, striking out 2 over 6 innings.
Game two turned into an offensive showdown, with both teams combining for 39 runs. The Lady Chargers scored 7 runs in the fifth inning, rallying to close the gap, but ultimately fell 24-15. Jayla Davenport sparked the offense, going 2-for-4 with 3 runs and 2 RBIs. Madison Arel stayed hot, hitting her second home run of the day as part of a 2-for-5 performance with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Abigail Brown continued her stellar day, going 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs and a double. Jaides Parrish and Jaelyn Luke each had 3-hit games, driving in runs with doubles. The Lady Chargers amassed 19 hits, showcasing their determination at the plate.
Samantha Staggs took the loss in game two, pitching 4 innings and allowing 10 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits, striking out 3. Christina Juarez pitched in relief, covering 3 innings and allowing 14 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, with 3 strikeouts.
