Chargers Advance to TCCAA Championship
The Chargers punched their ticket to the championship game on Monday with an impressive 77–54 victory over Southwest Tennessee CC in the semifinals of the TCCAA Region 7 Basketball Tournament.
Columbia State controlled the game on both ends of the floor, using a balanced scoring effort and strong defensive play to pull away from Southwest Tennessee and secure the 23-point win.
Freshman Nate Malosa led the Chargers with a strong performance, finishing with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Fellow freshman De'Costa Ricks added 10 points, while also contributing 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Chargers' depth continued to show throughout the game as Tyren Fisher, Taveon Comage, and Piotr Luczak each added 9 points to help power the offense.
With the victory, the Chargers advance to the TCCAA Region 7 Championship Game, where they will face Walters State. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 9.
