The Columbia State Lady Chargers battled through adversity on the road Monday, Feb. 16, edging the Volunteer State Lady Pioneers 69–68 in a dramatic TCCAA weather make-up game.
The Lady Chargers trailed for most of the contest, but showed resilience down the stretch, rallying in the fourth quarter to set up a thrilling finish. With the game on the line in the final seconds, sophomore Lily Melton calmly stepped to the free-throw line and knocked down the game-winning shots to seal the one-point victory.
Freshman Kelsey Keiler delivered a standout performance, posting a dominant double-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals. Melton followed with an impressive all-around effort of her own, finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals to lead the late comeback.
With the win, Columbia State improves to 13–10 overall and 12–5 in TCCAA play, continuing to build momentum as the postseason approaches.
