Lady Chargers’ Historic Season Ends in Hard-Fought Semifinal Battle
The Lady Chargers' Basketball season came to a close tonight with a hard-fought battle against Chattanooga State in the TCCAA tournament semifinals, ending in a 60-55 loss to the Lady Tigers.
Freshman Jacie Scott led the charge with an impressive 21-point performance, showcasing her scoring prowess. Fellow freshman Lily Melton contributed significantly with 18 points and 4 rebounds, proving to be a key player on both ends of the court.
Sophomore Ansley Burleson closed out her Columbia State career with a standout performance, tallying 11 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Jacqueline Hardrick and Tennley Dowty each added 2 points to the scoreboard, rounding out the team effort.
Despite the loss, the Lady Chargers wrapped up a historic season with a 17-11 overall record and an impressive 15-5 mark in TCCAA conference play. Their resilience and teamwork throughout the season have set a strong foundation for the future of Columbia State basketball.
