Chargers Triumph in Quarterfinals, Advance to TCCAA Semifinals
The Chargers basketball team powered through the quarterfinal round of the TCCAA Tournament in Memphis, TN, securing a 75-66 victory over the Green Jays of Jackson State yesterday.
Sophomore Mahki Wright delivered a standout performance, leading the team with an impressive double-double: 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks. His dominance on both ends of the court set the tone for the Chargers' success.
Fellow sophomore Thaddeus Johnson contributed 17 points and 4 assists, showcasing his playmaking ability, while sophomore Simeon Williams added 16 points to round out the scoring effort.
With this win, the Chargers advance to the semifinals, where they will face off against the Raiders of Roane State today.
In addition to their on-court success, the Chargers celebrated individual accolades as well. Congratulations to Mahki Wright and Thaddeus Johnson for earning TCCAA 1st Team All-Conference honors, a testament to their hard work and dedication throughout the season.
