Chargers Explode for 19 Runs in Midweek Win Over Snead State
The Chargers baseball team put together an impressive all-around performance in a dominant 19-4 victory over Snead State in a midweek matchup at Battle Creek High School.
On the mound, the Chargers received a strong start from Harrison Cassle, who went 6 innings while allowing 6 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) and striking out four. Nick Bolton came in relief and shut the door, tossing 1 inning with no hits, no runs, and one strikeout.
Offensively, the Chargers' bats were on fire, racking up 13 total hits and consistently applying pressure throughout the game.
Julian Richards went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, while Ashton Kemp finished 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Holden Warmath delivered a standout performance, going 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run, scoring twice and driving in four runs. Jordan Akins also had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, and two RBIs.
John Carter contributed with a 1-for-2 outing that included a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. Cary Burke was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two doubles, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Sam Smith added to the offensive explosion with a home run, finishing 1-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Russ Lambert capped off the strong team effort, going 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and three RBIs.
The Chargers will return to action this weekend as they host TCCAA opponent Walters State at Belmont University. Game times are set for Friday, April 3 with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m., followed by a single game on Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m.
