Chargers Run-Rule Kishwaukee in 16–6 Win at Dave Hall Field
The Columbia State Chargers baseball team hosted Kishwaukee College in a nine-inning contest on Wednesday, March 11 at Dave Hall Field. The Chargers put together an explosive offensive performance, defeating Kishwaukee 16-6 in seven innings.
Columbia State finished the game with 13 hits, powering the offense throughout the afternoon.
Julian Richards led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Holden Warmath also had a big day offensively, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and five RBIs.
Isaac Schafer added a home run with two runs scored and four RBIs, while John Carter also went deep with a home run, two runs scored and one RBI. Ashton Kemp contributed a double and two runs scored, and Jordan Akins added a hit, a run and an RBI.
Additional hits for the Chargers came from Cary Burke, Jax Nichols, and Sam Smith.
On the mound, Harrison Cassle earned the win, pitching 3.1 innings, allowing 10 hits and six runs (six earned) while striking out two. Will Rhodes provided strong relief, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out three to close out the game.
With the win, the Chargers move to 11-10 overall and 9-3 in TCCAA play.
Columbia State will head on the road this weekend for a conference series against Southwest Tennessee Community College. The Chargers will play a single game on Friday, March 13 at 2 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 14 beginning at 12 p.m.
