Chargers Outslug Bethel JV in Extra-Inning Win
The Chargers Baseball team traveled to Bethel University on Wednesday and came away with a 17-13 victory in a high-scoring, 10-inning battle against the Wildcats' JV squad.
The Chargers' offense was on fire, tallying 14 hits as a team. John Carter delivered a standout performance, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, a double, nine RBIs, and three runs scored. Anthony Pastrana added to the offensive surge, going 2-for-7 with a triple, three RBIs, and a run scored. Clint Seymore also made his mark, finishing 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run.
Kaito Muto, Camden Vaughn, Hutson Miles, Bo Culver, Russ Lambert, and Isaac Shafer each contributed a hit to the team's total.
On the mound, multiple pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts. Isaac Shafer earned the win, tossing one inning while allowing just one hit and striking out two.
The Chargers will wrap up their regular season on Monday, April 28, when they travel to Western Kentucky University to face Wabash Valley.
