Chargers Take Game One in High-Scoring Series Finale at Pellissippi State
The Chargers Baseball team hit the road for Knoxville this past weekend to face the Panthers of Pellissippi State in the final TCCAA series of the regular season. The Chargers opened the three-game set with an explosive offensive performance in game one before falling in games two and three to finish the series 1-2. The Chargers close out TCCAA play with a 17-12 conference record.
Game One Recap – Chargers 15, Panthers 11 (Friday, April 18)
The Chargers came out swinging in game one, racking up 18 hits in a 15-11 slugfest victory.
Hutson Miles led the way at the plate, going 4-for-6 with a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI. Tyler Jenkins had a monster game, going 2-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs, and two runs scored.
Cade Hitson added more firepower with a 2-for-3 performance, launching a double and a home run while driving in two and scoring three runs.
Clint Seymore continued his steady play, going 3-for-6 with a double, a run, and an RBI.
Camden Vaughn and Brady Hendrix each had multi-hit games, while Arturo Rodriguez, John Carter, and Derek Valentin-Luciano chipped in with base hits to round out a dominant offensive showing.
Game Two Recap – Panthers 9, Chargers 4 (Saturday, April 19)
In game two, the Chargers fell 9-4 despite another solid showing at the plate with eight total hits.
Clint Seymore went 2-for-4, while Tyler Jenkins added another home run, finishing 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Arturo Rodriguez had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.
Cade Hitson and Russ Lambert each added a double, with Lambert driving in a run. Camden Vaughn also contributed two RBIs.
Adam Jamison got the start on the mound, going 3.2 innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs.
Game Three Recap – Panthers 9, Chargers 4
The Panthers took the rubber match by the same score as game two, 9-4. The Chargers once again tallied eight hits but couldn't overcome Pellissippi's offensive push.
Clint Seymore finished a strong weekend with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI. Cade Hitson added two more hits, going 2-for-3.
Hutson Miles scored twice, while Tyler Jenkins and Arturo Rodriguez each recorded a hit and drove in a run. Camden Vaughn went 1-for-2.
Dylan Alonso started on the mound, going four innings with four hits, five earned runs, and four strikeouts.
