Head Coach
Kean Barclay enters his 5th season as the Head Coach at Columbia State in the fall of 2025. Coach Barclay is an experienced collegiate and club soccer coach with a proven record of building winning programs and developing players on and off the field. Currently serving as Head Women's Soccer Coach at Columbia State, Barclay has led the team to three conference championship appearances in his first four seasons, earning a regular season championship in 2024 and a national ranking of #20. His leadership has produced standout athletes, including a Region 7 Player of the Year, First Team All-America, Freshman of the Year, and numerous All-Conference players.
Before Columbia State, Barclay guided East Central College's men's program to three straight regional championship appearances, a top 25 national ranking, and was named 2014 Conference Coach of the Year. His coaching journey also includes NCAA Division I experience at Northern Kentucky, Longwood, and the University of the Ozarks, as well as international coaching internships with West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in England.
In addition to his collegiate coaching career, Barclay has served as Executive Director and Director of Coaching for Clarksville Soccer Club since 2017, overseeing player development, coach education, and club operations for over 450 athletes.
Holding a USSF A License and a USSF Instructor's License, along with a Master's in Higher Education, Barclay emphasizes a holistic approach to coaching-fostering technical excellence, tactical awareness, and personal growth. His coaching philosophy centers on creating a culture of cohesion, commitment, and development, ensuring players succeed not only on the field but also in the classroom and in life. His wife Brittany is a nurse, and they have three children, Scarlett (9), Cecilia (7), and Duncan (5).
